Have you heard of Chelsea Wolf? Didn't think so.
Miss Wolf is an NYC based musician, a friend of a friend's, who I was offered the opportunity to photograph.
I had the pleasure of attending one of Chelsea's shows a few weeks back at Rockwood Music Hall, a rare occurrence, as she seems to only book one or two shows a month. To say this little ladies' solo performance was spectacular would be a mighty understatement. Chelsea's vocals are enchanting and her lyrics are honest and catchy, sometimes TOO catchy; I'll often find myself walking around for days with "Come take me home" stuck in my head and wind up crying about that guy who broke my heart when I was 17.
Anyways, this immensely talented darling has her first EP coming out any week now. "Songs From The Underground"s release date is not set in stone yet, nor are any of Chels' upcoming shows, but I urge all music lovers/friends of mine/cat lovers/ladies of post-heartbreak out there to check out what is available now.
Aside from being a true musical gem, Chelsea Wolf is an all around lovely person. She is mindful and caring and deserves some bit of recognition for what she does.
